About the position

The Software Engineering Manager at Flock Safety will lead the Admin team, focusing on engineering stability and scalability within the company's technology solutions aimed at reducing crime. This role requires strong leadership to motivate and develop the team while navigating complex technologies. The manager will be responsible for coaching direct reports, establishing processes, and ensuring the team meets its deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Admin team to engineer stability and scalability in foundational systems.
• Coach and develop direct reports to enhance team productivity and individual career growth.
• Establish 1:1 meetings with team members to assess their progress and provide support.
• Contribute to the team's code repositories and understand existing processes for code delivery.
• Establish and track goals for the team and individual members to ensure alignment with company objectives.
• Engage with stakeholders and peers to foster growth and collaboration within the team.

Requirements

• Proven strong leadership skills with experience in managing engineering teams.
• Proficiency in Typescript (Node) and modern web frameworks (React, Vue, Angular).
• Experience with SQL and various data stores.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for deployment and local development.
• Experience with AWS services such as S3, API Gateway, and SQS.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with live chat technologies.
• Familiarity with Maven for project management.
