The Generative AI Org at Meta is seeking a technical leader to join our team and work on chatbots, characters, and personas. Our team is responsible for making Meta the world's preferred destination for building and engaging with characters. For Connect 2023, we launched a set of characters that users are able to message and engage with, including Dungeon Master, Billie, and Bob the Robot. In 2024 and beyond, we will be looking to scale our learnings to build a platform where anyone can create a character. Our ML team's specific responsibility will be to deliver core LLM models that power the overall platform and user experience. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will grow a team of domain experts in large language models (LLM) for chatbots and characters. You will drive the execution of developing models and systems that are crucial to the end user experience. This role requires you to develop a technical vision, long-term strategy, and set direction for the team and the organization. You will also be responsible for communicating, collaborating, and building relationships with clients and peer teams to facilitate cross-functional projects. The ideal candidate will have a track record in landing product impact, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience supporting and leading teams of ML engineers and scientists. You should have a proven technical vision in the field of Generative AI and experience with cross-functional collaboration with product and platform teams, as well as non-engineering functions. Additionally, demonstrated experience in recruiting, building, structuring, and leading technical organizations, including performance management, is essential. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in large language models, NLP, and Transformer modeling, in both research and engineering development settings, is required.
