About the position

As a Software Engineering Manager at Sentry, you will lead and inspire a team of software engineers and product analysts to develop, maintain, and improve software products supporting the CustomerOne Customer Data Platform. This role combines technical expertise, product management, project management, and managerial skills to oversee the software development lifecycle and foster a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of software engineers and analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Build a cohesive team, assign tasks, and ensure team members have the resources they need to succeed.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define product vision that aligns with business objectives and strategy.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed within scope, budget, and timeline constraints.
  • Implement and enforce coding standards, best practices, and quality control processes to maintain high software quality, performance, and resiliency.
  • Administer human resource-related activities including timely performance and salary reviews and ensure adherence to human resources policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
  • Proven experience in software development and team management.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and presentation, to appropriate audiences.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry preferred.
