About the position

As a Software Engineering Manager, Infrastructure on the Reality Labs team at Meta, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative hardware and software solutions that redefine how people connect and interact. This position combines technical expertise with effective people management, allowing you to lead engineering initiatives and influence product strategy while ensuring the reliability and availability of critical platform components.

Responsibilities

• Be both highly technical, hands-on coder and an effective people manager
• Communicate across functions and drive engineering initiatives
• Participate in technical design
• Be a subject matter expert in the infrastructure domain
• Define and influence product strategy
• Develop and support processes to maintain uptime, SLAs and availability of critical platform components

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering work experience, including hands-on technical management
• 5+ years experience coding in one of the following languages: C++, Java, Python and/or PHP
• Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with CI/CD, software configuration management systems and/or source code version control systems like Git and Mercurial
• Experience in automation for consumer electronics
