About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join the Advisor Gateway development organization within Wealth and Investment Management Technology (WIMT). This role is pivotal in building a platform that will support over 150 applications representing the Wealth and Investment Management business. The ideal candidate will be a leader who can drive standards, reusable architectures, and integration services across a multi-channel framework. The position involves not only development and management but also working on innovation projects, implementing DevOps practices, and adhering to enterprise architecture standards. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, manage risks effectively, and collaborate with both technology and business leaders to shape the future of the WIM business. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and design of the core framework application for the Wealth and Investment Management business. You will measure, validate, and strengthen both non-functional and functional requirements within the framework. Partnering with platform support, you will operate the platform with transparent reporting and metrics. Additionally, you will manage, coach, and develop a team of engineers, ensuring they build high-quality capabilities using modern technology. Adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture and meeting non-functional requirements with each release will be critical. You will engage with architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology's technical strategies, understanding next-generation domain architecture to facilitate application migration paths, such as cloud readiness and application modernization. As the technical representative for the product, you will participate in cross-team collaborative efforts and planning. Identifying and recommending opportunities to resolve technology roadblocks, including code, build, and deployment issues, will be part of your responsibilities, along with managing the overall software development cycle and security standards. Your role will also involve acting as an escalation partner for scrum masters and teams, helping to make decisions and remove impediments while fostering a culture of constant learning and improvement. You will build engineering skills alongside your team, conduct code reviews, and guide design as necessary. Ensuring security, stability, and scalability within technology functions will be essential, as will managing and mitigating technology and enterprise risks. Collaboration with Product Managers and Product Owners will be key to driving user satisfaction and influencing technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap. You will also interact directly with third-party vendors and technology service providers, managing the allocation of people and financial resources for technology engineering, including career development and performance management for your team.
