Oculus Studios is expanding the Central Technology team focusing efforts within its First Party Game Studios, which include Armature Studios, Beat Games, BigBox VR, Camouflaj, Downpour Interactive, Sanzaru Games, Twisted Pixel, Supernatural, and Ouru. Within Oculus Studios Central Technology, we help our Studios take advantage of the economies of scale that Meta provides. We are looking for engineers who can work effectively within Meta's vast infrastructure and are excited by the chance to help Studios make video games. Our collaboration aims to build centralized solutions and shared technologies for the Studios, assisting in decreasing the overhead for Oculus Studios across the board. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will support the engineers who drive common client-facing solutions across Oculus Studios, including Game Hosting & Matchmaking, Voice Chat, In-Game Notifications, Persistent Player & Game Data, Reporting, Moderation, Logging & Analytics, and Common Tooling. You will provide appropriate and timely feedback to help engineers improve and grow in their careers, assist in mediating disputes, and collaborate with management to ensure alignment on long-term objectives. Your role will also involve defining the roadmap for Meta's infrastructure and New Technology Support approach for game studios, working across multi-year efforts. You will be responsible for finding common needs by working across the first-party game studios, collecting requirements, and proposing solutions to gain buy-in. Building custom solutions that align with the Metaverse, such as Avatars and Common Identity, will be part of your duties. Additionally, you will work as a full-stack developer, gaining familiarity with multiple coding languages and game engines, and help onboard new game studio engineers to Meta infrastructure and internal tools. Your partnership with other teams within Meta will be crucial in determining the best approaches to migrate game studio services while ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. You will also support game studios during break/fix scenarios and assist them in building, scaling, and optimizing new features for their existing and future titles.
