Our mission is to collaborate in building centralized solutions and shared technologies that streamline operations across the studios, ultimately reducing overhead and enhancing productivity. As a Software Engineering Manager within Oculus Studios Core Engineering, you will support engineers who are responsible for developing common client-facing solutions across the studios. This includes critical systems such as Game Hosting & Matchmaking, Voice Chat, In-Game Notifications, Persistent Player & Game Data, Reporting, Moderation, Logging & Analytics, and Common Tooling. In this position, you will identify common needs across the first-party game studios, gather requirements, and propose solutions that gain buy-in from stakeholders. You will also be involved in building and launching features as part of a first-party product, learning from these launches to enhance future engagements. Your work will include developing custom solutions that align with the Metaverse, such as Avatars and Common Identity, which will be delivered to consumers through game launches. As a full-stack developer, you will gain familiarity with multiple coding languages, including CPP, C#, Python, Hack, JavaScript, and React, and work with various game engines like Unity and Unreal. Additionally, you will help onboard new engineers to Meta's infrastructure and internal tools, ensuring that the unique challenges of game development are understood and addressed. You will partner with other teams within Meta to determine the best approaches for migrating game studio services while maintaining a focus on reliability, scalability, and security. Your support will extend to assisting game studios during break/fix scenarios and contributing to the development, scaling, and optimization of new features for their existing and future titles.
