About the position

The Software Engineering Manager for the PyTorch MTIA Frameworks will lead a team focused on developing high-performance software and hardware technologies for AI at datacenter scale. This role involves managing the software stack development for inference and training platforms, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team and with other engineering teams, and supporting the career development of team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of domain experts developing AI acceleration software stack for MTIA.
• Develop the vision and strategy to set direction for the team while managing day-to-day software development.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with peer engineering teams.
• Help team members develop their careers by assigning projects tailored to their skill levels and work styles.
• Work closely with recruiting staff to expand the team, including sourcing and interviewing candidates.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in managing a software team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated experience in recruiting, building, structuring, and leading technical organizations, including performance management.
• Experience developing AI inference and/or training software stack.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, ONNX, MXNet, TensorRT.
• Knowledge of deep learning models such as recommendation, ranking, and LLM.
• Familiarity with AI hardware such as GPUs and deep learning accelerators.
