About The Position
The MTIA (Meta Training & Inference Accelerator) Software team is part of the AI Infra PyTorch organization at Meta. The team's mission is to explore, develop, and help productize high-performance software and hardware technologies for AI at datacenter scale. This team has been actively developing AI frameworks to accelerate Meta's deep learning (DL) and machine learning (ML) workloads on specialized MTIA AI accelerator hardware. As part of the AI acceleration software stack, the team is responsible for developing the PyTorch compiler frontend for MTIA, the PyTorch runtime for inference and training, as well as high-performance kernel libraries that exploit various hardware architectural features and tooling. We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the MTIA software stack development for both inference and training platforms. This role requires a strategic and tactical approach to manage a team of domain experts who are developing the AI acceleration software stack for MTIA. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for developing the vision and strategy to set the direction for the team while also managing day-to-day software development activities. Effective communication and collaboration with peer engineering teams are essential for success in this role. The Engineering Manager will manage a diverse team of developers, helping them to develop their careers by assigning them to projects that align with their skill levels, long-term skill development goals, personalities, and work styles. Additionally, the manager will work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team, which includes sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, participating in conferences and events, and onboarding new employees.
