About the position

The Software Engineering Manager will serve as the Solution Manager for Broker Experience within the Prospect to Card Value Stream. This role is responsible for managing and overseeing teams that design and develop software applications, ensuring best practices in software development, and providing oversight for enterprise software solutions. The manager will empower a team of software engineers, business analysts, and scrum masters to deliver scalable software solutions that provide business value, while also managing risks and dependencies across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Empower a team of software engineers, business analysts, and scrum masters to develop scalable software solutions.
  • Provide best practices for analysis, design, software development, and quality engineering activities.
  • Work closely with third parties and stakeholders to manage risks and dependencies.
  • Remove impediments associated with hand-off to external dependencies during execution.
  • Coordinate the review of requirements with vendors, stakeholders, and architects.
  • Define, develop, and articulate different delivery and resource management methodologies based on stakeholder needs.
  • Develop staff through coaching, performance feedback, and conflict management.
  • Establish performance and development plans for team members.
  • Ensure the team has the right skills and capability to deliver, addressing gaps through reskilling or hiring.
  • Recommend and develop solutions considering costs, business needs, and organizational impacts.
  • Facilitate all aspects of software development from planning to implementation.
  • Serve as a channel of prioritization, escalation, and resource marshaling for urgent issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or 4 additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 years of related professional experience.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience or demonstrated progressive leadership experience.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and allocate resources based on organizational goals.
  • Ability to establish relationships and credibility with engineers.
  • Understanding of distributed computing principles.
  • Experience working with relational databases.
  • Knowledge and experience with various delivery methodologies.
  • Experience in software development life cycle Scaled Agile Framework delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
