About the position

As a Manager of the Security Infrastructure team at LinkedIn, you will lead efforts to drive the vision for security infrastructure architecture, features, and capabilities. This high-profile role involves managing a team of engineers to design and deliver robust, scalable security solutions that protect LinkedIn's data and services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in technical discussions, ensuring the security infrastructure meets the demands of a rapidly growing user base.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for a team of 5-10 engineers.
• Lead and manage the engineering team with a passion for mentoring and growing top engineering talent.
• Work closely with various other teams (Applications, Infrastructure teams, etc.) to align on initiatives, leveraging existing solutions, and ensure optimal collaboration.
• Participate in key technical and design discussions with technical leads in the team as a hands-on manager.
• Define and leverage best practices for engineering and research to ensure optimal productivity and drive faster iterations.
• Attract world-class talent and provide technical guidance, career development, and mentoring to team members.
• Be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship.
• Design and deliver world-class high-performance authentication, authorization, secret management, and cryptography solutions for our data centers.

Requirements

• BS/BA in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent technical experience.
• 1+ year(s) of management experience or 1+ year(s) of staff level engineering experience with management training.
• 5+ years industry experience in software design, development, and delivery.
• 5+ years programming experience in object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, Golang, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, or Ruby.
• Experience in large-scale compute infrastructure and large scale distributed systems.

Nice-to-haves

• MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of hands-on technical management experience.
• 7+ years of industry experience.
• 3+ years experience in security.
• Experience in the design and development of performant, highly available, scalable web applications.
• Successful track record of managing teams of engineers to deliver multiple projects on time and with quality.
• Hire and retain world-class engineers by providing career growth, mentoring, and high impact projects, while taking intelligent risks to improve the way work is done.
• Experience with building and deploying PKI and key management at scale.
• Experience in building and deploying application authentication and authorization infrastructure (e.g OAuth).
• Experience in isolating k8s workloads to improve security and performance.
