About the position

The Software Engineering Manager will lead a team of system software engineers in the Virtualization team, focusing on the development of the Apple Virtual Platform and related technologies. This role emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration to create a seamless virtualization experience across Apple products, ensuring that the integration of hardware and software meets the high standards expected from Apple devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of system software engineers in the development of the Apple Virtual Platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Apple to innovate and implement new technologies and features related to virtualization.
• Set ambitious goals for the team and motivate them to achieve these objectives.
• Ensure timely delivery of software aligned with project and program schedules.

Requirements

• Experience leading a software-development team.
• Experience with firmware, device-driver, and/or kernel-level development.
• Proven track record of delivering software aligned with project and program schedules.
• History of setting aggressive yet attainable goals and motivating teams to achieve them.

Nice-to-haves

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• BS in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of modern processor architectures and supporting hardware.
• Experience with virtualization.
