About the position

The Engineering Manager at SpaceNav is responsible for mentoring and managing engineering teams, shaping the future of engineering efforts, and driving the development of mission-critical software. This role emphasizes building a collaborative and high-performing team, ensuring successful project execution, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The Engineering Manager will work closely with various stakeholders to set priorities, develop schedules, and create execution strategies for the engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Improve existing software development processes and procedures, ensuring consistent standards and best practices across multiple product development initiatives.
• Help create long-term roadmaps while ensuring short-term sprint objectives are met.
• Develop and administer technical training and certification programs to enhance the skills and expertise of the team.
• Work with engineers from other disciplines to develop software requirements and support design artifacts.
• Help foster a positive and inclusive team culture.

Requirements

• US Citizenship required.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer or electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years' relevant engineering experience.
• 3+ years' experience in a technical lead/engineering management position.
• Experience guiding agile teams on how to use Agile/Scrum practices.
• Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, and automated testing.
• Experience with cloud services, such as AWS.
