About the position
The Software Engineering Manager for Integrated Solutions for Systems (IS4S) is responsible for directing the overall software architecture, development processes, and delivery schedules for high-performance navigation systems. This senior role involves leading the Integrated Product Team (IPT) for Software, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring the development of quality software documentation and airworthy avionics products.
Responsibilities
- Lead the software development and production strategies across in-house teams and multiple sub-contractor teams for navigation systems.
- Effectively communicate with customers regarding the vision and objectives of software development processes.
- Direct the implementation of supporting infrastructure such as simulation software and analysis tools.
- Supervise multiple teams of software developers in the design, development, and testing of software for navigation systems.
- Ensure software development processes produce airworthy avionics products.
- Maintain quality software documentation, including specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Participate in design reviews and provide input on system architecture decisions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of development experience in modern C++ and C.
- 7+ years of experience leading software development teams.
- Experience in leading formal DoD software production, testing, and maintenance/support.
- Experience with DoD cyber hardening and software assurance requirements is preferred.
- Experience leading software teams in both Waterfall and Agile development approaches is preferred.
- Experience with RTCA DO-178c software certification processes is preferred.
- Experience with GNSS receivers and other navigation systems/sensors is preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Masters in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Advanced degrees will offset minimum years of relevant experience.
