About the position

The Software Engineering Manager will oversee a midsize to large group of software architects, cybersecurity experts, and software developers, focusing on the development and integration of software solutions for DoD/Defense vehicle architecture. This role requires a strong background in software engineering and systems integration, with a proven track record in product development throughout the entire lifecycle. The manager will be responsible for leading teams, promoting collaboration, and ensuring high performance while communicating effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of software architects, cybersecurity experts, and software developers.
  • Lead product development throughout the entire product lifecycle.
  • Present technical solutions to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Promote collaboration and facilitate teamwork across the organization and external service providers.
  • Clarify and define organizational goals and strategies, communicating them effectively to all team members.
  • Support and encourage high performance by motivating individuals and teams.
  • Engage with overseas colleagues to ensure all staff have the necessary information and opportunities.

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of experience in delivering large complex US Defense programs.
  • Applied working knowledge in software engineering development and systems integration.
  • Detailed knowledge of electro-mechanical and electrical engineering and vehicle principles.
  • Ability to obtain SECRET US Defense clearance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with teams and stakeholders.
  • Practical hands-on attitude with the ability to operate independently.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to less knowledgeable individuals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Detailed knowledge of Military Standards and regulations.
  • Familiarity with US DoD ground vehicle requirements.
  • Knowledge of US DoD processes for vehicle development and acquisition.
  • Experience with military Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems.
