About the position

As a Software Engineering Manager at Automox, you will lead multiple agile teams to deliver innovative features and systems that enhance the company's competitive advantage. This role involves overseeing the development of new and existing services, managing cross-functional teams, and driving engineering initiatives to ensure high-quality product experiences. You will be responsible for mentoring team members, promoting a positive culture, and establishing effective agile practices to foster collaboration and ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive significant transformation results for multiple teams of talented Engineers.
  • Contribute and define key roadmap initiatives as part of release planning efforts.
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery and timeline of features, services, and applications.
  • Ensure a high level of technical quality by collaborating on technology standards and architectural principles.
  • Manage and prioritize engineering initiatives, infrastructure changes, maintenance, and new feature requests.
  • Work with program management to track delivery and project milestones.
  • Mentor, coach, and motivate team members while promoting a positive culture.
  • Establish and refine effective agile practices that drive results.
  • Promote best practices in software development, testing, and deployment of SaaS applications.
  • Identify and help resolve conflicts on your team or with other teams.
  • Identify and manage project issues and risks.
  • Establish monitoring and operation of production services.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience with SaaS software engineering teams.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across product, design, and engineering leads.
  • Preferred fluency in programming languages such as Go, Java, Vue.js, and Python.
  • Experience with infrastructure, microservices, and high-scale applications is a bonus.
  • Experience establishing CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Experience coaching engineers on a distributed team.
  • Passion for promoting good engineering practices and high-quality standards.
  • Obsession with user experience and human-centered design.
  • Proven track record of launching and scaling new cloud-native and web applications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Passion for recruiting and hiring strong engineering talent.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment across multiple locations and time zones.
