About the position
The Software Engineering Manager at UW Credit Union is responsible for overseeing software delivery operations and managing development resources within the Internet Services (IS) team. This role involves leading a team of skilled software engineers in a collaborative Agile environment to develop applications that enhance the member and employee experience. The manager will play a crucial role in influencing the direction of in-house development and support, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that align with the needs of over 360,000 members.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the continual development of software engineering related activities and the continual innovation of processes, programs, and services.
- Utilize Agile methodologies to manage the full life-cycle development of projects.
- Maintain software engineering patterns, practices, and guidelines to consistently and efficiently deliver high quality software solutions.
- Collaborate with Internet Services Leadership to provide alignment to the Internet Services team across all tracks, including operations, product management, user experience, quality assurance, development operations and engineering.
- Work with HR and senior management to select and retain highly engaged employees.
Requirements
- Proven experience in software engineering management or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and software development life cycle.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to various stakeholders.
- Experience in coaching and developing team members.
- Ability to drive adoption of new technologies and processes.
