About The Position
Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES), an industry leader in the design, manufacture, and support of embedded computing solutions for compute-intensive applications, is seeking a Software Engineering Manager for our embedded software department. Located on the far west side of Madison, WI, X-ES offers a range of products from commercial-grade to fully ruggedized boards and systems, including COTS products and bespoke solutions. Our work spans across demanding sectors such as military, communications, commercial, and industrial markets. As a Software Engineering Manager at X-ES, you will lead a team of engineers, overseeing the development, integration, and deployment of high-quality software solutions. Your role involves guiding the team through rigorous testing processes, ensuring successful project delivery, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for managing project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery while promoting best practices for software development, including automated testing, performance testing, and security testing. Additionally, you will drive the adoption of new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the engineering team. In this position, you will also monitor and evaluate team performance, providing regular feedback and conducting performance reviews. Staying current with industry trends and advancements will be crucial to keeping the team at the forefront of technology. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
