About the position

As an early employee at Minware, you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with the founders and engineers to build the product from the ground up. This role is designed for an ambitious engineering manager who possesses strong interpersonal skills, high empathy, and a solid understanding of software development processes and modern full-stack technology. You will lead a team focused on developer productivity, ensuring process efficiency and code quality while avoiding unnecessary technical debt.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of several developers working on Minware's core application.
  • Provide career guidance and conduct performance reviews for engineers.
  • Conduct interviews and play an active role in growing the team.
  • Review code, participate in sprint meetings, and provide guidance to ensure that engineers are meeting product and technical requirements.
  • Work closely with product managers and customers to define Minware's capabilities.
  • Design and architect new system components.
  • Manage a backlog of tech debt reduction and internal efficiency improvements.

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing and recruiting other software engineers.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining a complex back end application.
  • Strong communication skills for interfacing with non-technical stakeholders and occasionally with customers.
  • Familiarity with principles of high-quality code, including continuous integration, declarative and functional programming.
  • Well-versed in agile or lean planning and project management processes.
