About the position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead one of our Agile Product teams as part of the Next Generation Geo (NGG) ground segment program. This role is pivotal in providing the next generation ground system, which is designed with an open architecture/open framework to offer our customers the flexibility needed to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. As a manager, you will oversee a SAFE Agile Product team composed of individual contributors focused on the design, development, and testing of a combined hardware/software solution for operational delivery. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the existing leadership team to vet, hire, and build strong teams. We are looking for a passionate leader who thrives on challenges and is committed to ensuring the success of those around them. You will be expected to embrace modern development practices and encourage your team to do the same. As a self-starting leader, you will adapt to new tools and processes, and you will be eager to introduce automation when necessary. Effective communication and collaboration with team members will be key to your success in this role. This is a mid-senior level position requiring a minimum of 9 years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Science degree or higher. A final Top Secret security clearance is required prior to starting this role. Responsibilities

  • Lead an Agile Product team in the design, development, and testing of hardware/software solutions.

  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members.

Requirements

  • Final Top Secret security clearance required prior to start.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience with Agile methodology or Lean thinking.
  • Experience with software/hardware development programs.
  • Previous leadership experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
