About the position

The Software Engineering Manager at EBSCO Industries, Inc. is responsible for leading the development efforts on the Mobile App and Website for Moultrie Mobile, a division focused on providing real-time remote monitoring solutions. This role emphasizes collaboration across various departments to ensure the successful completion of projects while championing quality standards and improvements within the software team. The manager will also engage in hands-on software development, coaching, and maintaining a focus on the business's goals and roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Player Coach developing software with your team
  • Actively participate in design, build, test, deployment, maintenance, and support of mobile projects
  • Coaching on development best practices
  • Maintain vision of the business's goals and roadmap and ensure team is progressing on those goals
  • Work on and track multiple projects
  • Completes performance reviews for direct reports
  • Ensure that staff has the skills and behaviors to perform tasks fully and with high quality
  • Actively define, monitor and drive quality metrics for the software team
  • Document and enforce quality improvement processes
  • Identify quality gaps and facilitate/empower team members to fill them

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or related field (or equivalent years' work experience)
  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience planning/executing technical teams to deliver mission critical projects
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in C#
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in SQL Server
  • Knowledge of common design patterns (Inversion of Control, Dependency Injection, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with source control
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps
  • Hands-on experience with unit testing
