About the position

The Software Engineering Manager will lead a small team of developers, focusing on project management and resource allocation to create effective solutions for the company. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills to collaborate with department heads and ensure the team is productive and satisfied. The position is hybrid, requiring two days in the office and allowing three days of remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Assist developers on team with project management: defining problems, deciding on a solution, organizing a roadmap, coding, and testing (70%)
  • Handling escalated issues (help putting out fires) (10%)
  • Help steer the direction of development as the team and company grows (10%)
  • Complete regular scheduled check-ins with developers to make sure they are happy and productive developers (10%)

Requirements

  • 8 to 15 years of experience in software development
  • Experience working on at least 2 different development teams
  • Proficiency in C# with more than 8 years' experience building business applications
  • Experience with Java or Visual Basic is also considered sufficient
  • An IT-related degree is preferred, but a degree in any field is acceptable
  • Experience in Pharmacy Technology or with a Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) company is a plus
