About the position

Outlier is seeking a Software Engineering Mentor to assist in training generative AI models by providing coding expertise. This remote freelance position offers flexible hours, allowing mentors to work at their convenience. The role involves crafting and answering computer science questions and evaluating AI-generated code, contributing to the improvement of AI models used in coding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Craft and answer questions related to computer science to help train AI models.
• Evaluate and rank code generated by AI models.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or completed a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science at a selective institution.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++.
• Ability to articulate complex concepts fluently in English.
• Excellent attention to detail, including grammar, punctuation, and style guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AI or machine learning concepts (not required).
• Previous mentoring or teaching experience in software engineering.
