About the position

As a Software Engineering Manager Senior at PNC, you will lead a team of software engineers across multiple product lines, focusing on talent management, technological innovation, and continuous improvement. This role emphasizes fostering an inclusive workplace culture and delivering exceptional customer experiences through effective software solutions and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage a group of software engineers/managers across multiple product lines.
• Oversee the talent management of engineering talent, including recruiting, mentoring, and enabling a culture of learning with a focus on engineering craftsmanship.
• Foster technological innovation, ensuring adoption of current trends, capabilities, and practices emerging in the market.
• Encourage sound technology choices and drive innovative technology architecture and solution design.
• Identify issues, share best practices, and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions across multiple product lines.
• Direct and consult on all phases of the software engineering life cycle and troubleshoot technical problems as needed using agile methods.
• Lead complex problem solving and resolve workflow problems through automation optimization.
• Monitor security technology trends and ensure adaptability of techniques to various system architectures.
• Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and solution development.

Requirements

• University/college degree; higher education such as a Master's degree or PhD is desirable.
• 8+ years of industry-relevant experience, with at least 5 years of prior management experience.
• Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility.
