About the position

Piper Companies is seeking a Software Engineering Project Manager to join a leading entertainment systems company in Framingham, MA. This role is both strategic and hands-on, driving the delivery of embedded applications. The position is hybrid, requiring three days on-site (Tuesday to Thursday) and allowing for two remote days. The Software Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and managing the delivery of high-impact software development projects. This includes overseeing the build, test, and release cycles while coordinating with developers to ensure high quality and timely delivery of projects. The role also involves managing risk, budget, scope, and project quality, as well as tracking milestones and key performance indicators (KPIs). The Project Manager will need to eliminate and overcome project roadblocks and impediments through effective communication, risk mitigation strategies, and adapting project plans as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and manage the delivery of high-impact software development projects.
  • Oversee the build, test, and release cycles and coordinate with developers to ensure high quality and timely delivery.
  • Manage risk, budget, scope, and project quality, track milestones and KPIs.
  • Eliminate and overcome project roadblocks and impediments through communication, risk mitigation, and adapting project plans.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in software engineering project management (embedded software).
  • Skilled in managing strategic partnerships with leadership and third-party vendors.
  • Hands-on development and testing experience with embedded software applications (C, C++, MATLAB, Python).
  • Experience managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk for high-priority, critical enterprise projects.
  • ASPICE experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering discipline is required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
