About the position

ASRC Federal Mission Solutions is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration, and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering Senior Manager with technical leadership experience to join our Aegis Combat Weapons and Sensors (W&S) team. This is a full-time position located in Moorestown, NJ. The Software Engineering Senior Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership of the Aegis Weapons Control System (WCS) and Radar (SPY-1) products, including managing functional engineering managers and ensuring that the organization meets all applicable business commitments, including technical, cost, schedule, and training requirements. The successful candidate will ensure that WCS and Radar engineering products and services provided to Line of Business programs are of the highest quality, satisfying all cost, schedule, and technical commitments. This role involves carrying out the vision of the Director of Engineering and the Senior Leadership Team, effectively communicating the operating philosophy, objectives, and expectations to staff. The Software Engineering Senior Manager will also be responsible for leadership and technical customer interface and communication for WCS and Radar products, actively seeking new business opportunities with existing customers, and preparing the organization technically for future Navy ICS initiatives. In addition, the Software Engineering Senior Manager will develop and present formal presentations for both customers and internal management. They will drive compliance with Agile Software Development Procedures and associated business rhythms, providing timely and accurate projections of engineering resource requirements, including people, tools, and processes. This role will also involve conducting staffing and manpower planning to support current and anticipated projects, including interviewing and hiring personnel as required. The manager will define, communicate, and coordinate staffing priorities and funding requirements with the appropriate project stakeholders, working closely with Senior Leadership Team and Engineering Managers to identify and secure appropriate staffing. The Software Engineering Senior Manager will develop the long-term vision for people, processes, tools, capabilities, and technology, and will be responsible for hiring and developing the technical staff required to execute programs to meet business commitments. Additionally, they will oversee the career development and technical readiness of the engineering workforce, reviewing and approving all performance assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure WCS and Radar engineering products and services provided to Line of Business programs are highest quality, satisfying cost, schedule, and technical commitments

Requirements

  • Must have US Citizenship in order to obtain and maintain a government secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics, with technical management experience) or equivalent related work experience. A master's degree in an engineering discipline or math is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of related work experience is required.
  • Experience working in Agile Software Development Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Strong communication skills are needed to interface with internal stakeholders and high-level customer representatives.
