About the position

We are currently seeking talented Software Engineers to join our government Avionics Architecture Team in Lexington Park, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for writing specifications for a set of functions that will be integrated into the hardware of a modular, chassis-based multiprocessor computer. This position is critical as it involves developing software specifications that support hardware integration, bring-up, and debugging activities prior to the installation of full operating system environments. Your work will focus on creating function and interface specifications that promote interoperability and modularity of the hardware, with the ultimate goal of supporting vendor-neutral independent hardware integration. As part of your responsibilities, you will be expected to develop models using tools such as Magic Draw and SysML. These models will illustrate low-level startup behaviors and hardware interfaces, as well as simulations and animations to visualize these behaviors and demonstrate the interactions between the interfaces. This role requires a strong understanding of systems engineering and open systems architectures, as well as familiarity with HOST and/or VITA 65 and 64.11 standards. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering.
  • 5 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Experience in systems engineering and open systems architectures.
  • Familiarity with HOST and/or VITA 65 and 64.11 standards.
  • Proficiency in modeling with UML and/or SysML in Magic Draw.
  • Experience with Cameo simulation toolkit.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of current NAVAIR policy relating to software integration.
