About the position

The Software Implementation Engineer will play a crucial role in deploying, configuring, and integrating software solutions for clients. This position involves collaborating with clients to understand their requirements, leading deployment projects, and ensuring successful implementation and adoption of products. The engineer will also be responsible for maintaining documentation and providing technical support throughout the implementation process.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, configure software solutions, and lead deployment projects, including installation, configuration, testing, and training.
  • Work on a milestone-based timeline to complete all technical tasks required for each client implementation - data migration/transfer, ingestion, mapping, validation, processing, reporting, etc.
  • Provide technical support to clients during the implementation process and post-implementation.
  • Document implementation processes and provide training to internal teams.
  • Create new client documentation of all business information and data details - schemas, rules, exceptions, special call outs, etc.
  • Work closely with the development team to provide feedback on product improvements based on client feedback.
  • Collaborate with product and operations engineers to optimize the ingestion processes, data mapping and validation checks, and other processing jobs.
  • Conduct/participate in meetings such as code review, release planning, backlog refinement, and daily standup.
  • Create and maintain various forms of release documentation - change controls, release notes, deployment activities log, etc.
  • Assist with defect management and root cause analysis for data ingestion, staging, and validation related processes and jobs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to software implementation.
  • Maintain Jira tasks to reflect progress on all implementation and production support activities.
  • Produce client-facing reports.
  • Be on call weeknights or weekends at the discretion of management.

Requirements

  • BA or BS in data science, computer science, information systems, or other related degrees.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a role responsible for technical implementation tasks for software products.
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience working with healthcare data such as medical claims, pharmacy claims, membership, or provider data.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling tools.
  • Experience using PySpark is a plus.
  • Experience using GitHub, GitLab, or any other version control software.
  • Experience working with large datasets.
  • Experience with cloud-based data technologies (e.g., AWS and others).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in PySpark for debugging data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Glue, EMR, Athena, and Redshift for data storage and processing.
  • Understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and file-based databases for data modeling and storage.
  • Basic knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Exposure to healthcare data domains, including eligibility, claims, payments, and risk adjustment datasets.
