About the position

The Software Integration Architect role is a key position within a large government organization, focusing on leading the integration of third-party vendor systems with existing software. This position requires collaboration with both technical and non-technical teams to ensure successful implementation and adherence to architectural standards. The architect will oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of integration projects, ensuring quality and compliance throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of system integrations with new software.
  • Coordinate with technical and vendor teams on larger implementations.
  • Collaborate with project management to manage integration architecture and specifications throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Review and advise on technical requirements and timelines for new software implementations.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including diagrams and architecture plans.
  • Ensure software developers meet quality standards against technical requirements.
  • Support IT and Program Managers in tracking and forecasting solution development against project milestones using Agile methodologies.
  • Facilitate the software implementation and optimize systems architecture with technical teams.
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) processes and collaborate with users and technical teams to identify UAT plans.
  • Develop technical plans for various software testing types throughout implementation.
  • Plan strategies to address technical issues and bugs during pre-production and post-launch phases.
  • Define software compliance requirements and monitor tools to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Act as an escalation point to troubleshoot and resolve complex project-related incidents and problems.
  • Manage integration project tasks, coordinating with various resources.

Requirements

  • Eight years of experience in software development, including interface development or related tasks.
  • Experience managing complex IT software projects using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of systems architecture, integration architecture, and data management practices.
  • Familiarity with various integration methods and technologies, including web services, APIs, and file-based approaches.
  • Understanding of IT standards and protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proven experience in developing successful software integration solutions in an enterprise environment, using industry-standard integration suites.
  • Experience in IT project management and vendor management.
