About the position

Captivation Software is seeking a mid-level Software Integration Engineer to develop software tools and services in a PaaS Linux environment. This role supports an on-prem cloud offering using open source software and requires expertise in a containerized environment. The engineer will contribute to enhancing the efficiency of software deployment within a DevOps culture, playing a crucial role in the mission to protect the country.

Responsibilities

• Develop software tools and services in a PaaS Linux environment.
• Support the development of tools and services that increase software deployment efficiency.
• Integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• At least six (6) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software.
• Five (5) years of full-time Computer Science work experience that can substitute for a degree.
• Experience with Linux CLI.
• Experience writing scripts using Bash/Python.
• General technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage system components.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and automation tools such as SaltStack, Puppet, and Ansible.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using Helm to deploy Kubernetes applications.
• Experience using GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and applications.
