About the position

Bring your technical expertise and collaborative skills to make an impact here at Serco. You will be on a critical team working with the customer at our Maryland location. This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer a TS/SCI with Poly clearance and is also contingent upon customer requirements and/or their approval. In this role, you will be responsible for integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software. You will generate documentation for the full software stack and update software for sustainment support. Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting will be essential as you execute test codes for characterization of software performance. Additionally, you will provide software product ownership for High-Performance Computing (HPC) tools and will need a working knowledge of Configuration Management (CM) tools, web documentation, and issue tracking. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms is crucial. You will also be tasked with developing software tool plugins in the language in which the tools are written and determining the optimal, or best available, HPC configuration for customer needs. This role requires a proactive approach and the ability to adapt to changing requirements and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software.
  • Generate documentation for the full software stack.
  • Update software for sustainment support.
  • Execute test codes for characterization of software performance.
  • Provide software product ownership for HPC tools.
  • Work with CM tools, web documentation, and issue tracking.
  • Develop software tool plugins in the language in which the tools are written.
  • Determine the optimal HPC configuration for customer needs.

Requirements

  • An active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
  • Alternatively, five (5) years of full-time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree and at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience with COTS/GOTS software.
  • An industry recognized professional certification may substitute as one (1) year experience.
  • A Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two (2) years' experience.
