About the position

The Software Integration Engineer IV position within the SRE Team at Carson Solutions, LLC is a critical role that involves the integration, installation, configuration, upgrading, compiling, and support of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) software. This position requires a deep understanding of heterogeneous operating system environments, specifically Linux and Windows, and the ability to work effectively in both. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring that software systems are fully operational and meet the necessary performance and reliability standards. In this role, the engineer will engage with cluster computing and shared file systems, which are essential for high availability computing. The position also involves system monitoring of software to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The engineer will utilize a variety of scripting languages to automate processes and enhance system functionality. This position is on-site in Annapolis Junction, MD, and requires a Top Secret/SCI clearance with a polygraph, reflecting the sensitive nature of the work involved. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software integration and support, with a proven track record of working in complex environments. The role demands not only technical expertise but also the ability to collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to achieve project goals. The engineer will be expected to stay current with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the integration processes and methodologies used within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile and support COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment including Linux and Windows.
  • Work with cluster computing and shared file systems to ensure high availability computing.
  • Monitor system performance and software functionality to ensure optimal operation.
  • Utilize a variety of scripting languages for automation and system enhancements.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with at least ten years of demonstrable experience in software integration and support.
  • Five years of full-time Computer Science related work experience can substitute for a degree, along with ten years of demonstrable experience in software integration and support.
  • An industry-recognized professional certification may substitute for one year of experience.
  • A Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two years of experience.
  • IAT Level II Certification required.
