About the position

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Software Integration Engineer to join our mission of delivering breakthrough capabilities and landmark aircraft that continually redefine flight and mission success. This role will involve responsibilities that span the technology development lifecycle, including system and software design, collaboration, automation tooling, infrastructure improvements, and software integration. The successful candidate will work with a multitude of host systems, including aircraft software, simulated systems, and laboratory environments that encompass constructive simulations, physical hardware, and system simulations. In this position, you will be tasked with developing, integrating, supporting, and debugging software. You will also troubleshoot and support Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) build pipelines, support virtual development labs, and aircraft software processes. Additionally, you will design, develop, and leverage open-source, commercial, and in-house software to support automation infrastructure. Participation in daily scrums, sprint reviews, and technical demos will be essential, as well as leading small software teams focused on specific capabilities and functionalities. Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate, support, and debug software
  • Troubleshoot and support CI/CD build pipelines
  • Support the virtual development labs and aircraft software processes
  • Design, develop and leverage open-source, commercial and in-house software to support automation infrastructure
  • Attend and participate in daily scrums, sprint reviews and technical demos
  • Lead small software teams with scope on specific capability/functionality

Requirements

  • Experience programming in C++
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
  • Experience debugging software
  • Must be a US citizen
  • This position requires special access and an interim Secret clearance to start

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college/university in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with CI tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Bitbucket
  • Experience with automation tools and development
  • Experience with Real-time simulation software development and integration
  • Experience programming in Python
  • Experience with debugging tools
  • Experience leading software projects
  • Experience developing software on Linux
  • A strong interest in supporting software development for airborne systems
  • Experience supporting aircraft build pipelines
  • Experience with aircraft sensors, datalinks, navigation, and/or weapons
