About the position

Our Client is seeking a Software Integration Engineer / System Admin to support the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with multiple government agencies, contractors, universities, and other organizations. This position will be onsite at one of their Colorado Springs facilities. The role requires a strong technical background in software integration and system administration, particularly in environments that utilize both Windows and Unix/Linux platforms. The candidate will be responsible for the installation and configuration of hardware platforms, as well as the development of installation scripts and test plans for software integration tests. The position also involves documentation of installation processes and ensuring compliance with Information Assurance policies. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changes as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Installation and configuration of Linux and Windows hardware platforms from the OS up to the C2BMC developed applications.
  • Documentation and verification of all installation and configuration steps in documentation to be delivered to the customer.
  • Develop installation scripts to automate the system installation.
  • Develop test plans/procedures for conducting software integration tests, be responsible for integration/execution, detailed data analysis, and preparation of software test reports.
  • Coordinate execution of software integration tests to verify system operation.
  • Work with software developers as needed to help diagnose and identify the root cause of problems found during software integration; submit problem reports for errors found.
  • Responsible for implementing all Information Assurance directives on the systems to include running IA scans.
  • Task and coordinate daily integration activities with other local team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • Security+ certification required.
  • Previous experience in the integration of separate software components into a single system.
  • Experience in integrating complex applications on Windows and Unix/Linux platforms.
  • Linux and Windows system administration including installing and configuring systems from the OS level up.
  • VMWare systems administration and installing.
  • Knowledge of Information Assurance policies and procedures and the ability to apply IA requirements to an existing system.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell/Bash/Korn scripting languages (developing, debugging and maintaining).
  • Experience with Git Version Control System.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with DoD integration processes, Agile and DevOps methodologies and automated test tools.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot application source code.
  • Familiarity with Java and object-oriented development.
  • Knowledge/expertise in the C2BMC concept of operations and user interface.
  • Experience writing installation manuals and clear, concise system installation and configuration instructions.
