About the position

The Software Java Engineer position is a client-focused role that involves direct support for software projects, primarily in the Washington DC area. The engineer will work closely with customers to adapt software solutions to meet their specific information requirements, serving as an expert in Cortex Edge technology. This role requires a combination of on-site and remote work, with responsibilities that include mentoring other developers and ensuring timely delivery of software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement enterprise-grade Java-based applications.
  • Identify and resolve immediate and potential issues with applications.
  • Participate in group meetings to discuss projects and objectives.
  • Assist, mentor, and collaborate with other developers with troubleshooting, debugging, and coding.
  • Meet deadlines on fast-paced deliverables.
  • Support the technical on-site delivery, customization, and maintenance of our software products and associated services in a wide variety of government, commercial, and non-profit organization environments.
  • Work with a team to advise and shape product road maps.

Requirements

  • Must possess at least an active Secret Security Clearance.
  • BS in Computer Science, similar study or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Java-based programming.
  • Knowledge of current frameworks, SDKs, APIs, and libraries including Spring and Java 17 or greater.
  • Experience with multi-threaded programming.
  • Proficient in using standard Source Code Management (SCM) and build tools such as Subversion and Maven.
  • Meticulous at both analysis and execution.
  • Ability to develop new software capabilities based on direct customer feedback.
