This role is crucial for managing a portfolio of major software vendors and creating a strategic roadmap for hundreds of annual software renewals. The Software Portfolio and Renewals Manager will work closely with BD's infrastructure, applications, service integration and management, and finance teams to ensure the performance of our strategic IT suppliers is effectively managed. Join us in making the impossible possible. In this role, you will manage day-to-day contracts, ensuring timely renewals and optimizing software subscription and support revenue. You will analyze performance, produce monthly dashboards and reports, and manage NDAs, contracts, SOWs, and software maintenance renewals with vendors. Your responsibilities will also include optimizing renewal opportunities to meet cost-saving targets, collaborating with BD TGS Platform Owners and business technical managers, and building a software renewal strategy that minimizes and optimizes spend. You will be responsible for closing monthly renewals, managing risks, and communicating with vendor partners about their performance. Additionally, you will drive standardization across vendor contracts and partner with various teams to maintain up-to-date performance data for portfolio reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day contracts and ensure renewals are completed on time, achieving year-to-year cost savings.
  • Analyze and monitor performance of software vendors.
  • Produce monthly dashboards and reports to show progress and identify risk areas.
  • Responsible for renewing Software Subscription and Support for software licenses before contract renewal dates.
  • Manage NDAs, Contracts, SOWs, and software maintenance renewals with vendors.
  • Optimize renewal opportunities to achieve Monthly, Quarterly & Yearly cost-saving targets.
  • Collaborate with BD TGS Platform Owners and Business technical managers to right-size license pools to lower costs.
  • Standardize changeout methodology and report cost distributions for business partners.
  • Build a software renewal strategy that includes best practices and processes to minimize and optimize spend.
  • Successfully close each month's renewals for the designated territory, including regular reconciliation of customer entitlements per renewal.
  • Produce monthly dashboards to show progress and escalations.
  • Take on software/vendor related projects and escalate issues that threaten portfolio and project success.
  • Communicate with vendor partners about their performance and drive standardization across vendor contracts.
  • Align with other portfolio managers to identify duplicates of capabilities and recommend resolutions.
  • Manage and minimize risk of assigned portfolio.
  • Partner with business partners, regions, procurement & data teams to maintain up-to-date performance data for portfolio reviews.
  • Attend industry conferences and participate on panels to facilitate information flow and understand best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relationship management and project management experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Generalist mindset with strong analytical skills and ability to act decisively in an entrepreneurial setting.
  • Familiarity with ITIL Foundation Methodology and ServiceNow.
  • Ability to influence and break down silos within an organization.
  • Ability to communicate complex contracts in a simplified manner.
  • Ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods.
  • Highly collaborative work style across all organizational levels.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization and navigating ambiguity.
