About the position

The Global Pricing Team at SAS is seeking a Software Pricing/Operations Analyst to focus on our state, local, and federal GSA (General Services Administration) contracts related to our SAS offerings. This role is pivotal in performing pricing and market analysis, implementing pricing strategies for SAS products and solutions within the government market, and guiding monetization and pricing strategy across the SAS portfolio. The analyst will research and analyze the competitive pricing environment, government market trends, and make recommendations based on these findings. The team operates collaboratively at the intersection of Product Management, R&D, Marketing, Strategy, Sales, Operations, Legal, and Finance, providing support and advising executive management on all dimensions of our pricing and monetization strategy across all SAS offerings globally. As a Software Pricing/Operations Analyst, you will own local, state, and/or federal GSA contracts related to SAS offerings, overseeing the initiation, negotiation, and execution of these contracts in compliance with all government regulations. You will streamline contract operations and maintain efficient communication channels with government agencies, ensuring accurate records of contract terms, amendments, and modifications. This role requires staying informed about updates and changes to GSA regulations and communicating relevant information to internal stakeholders. You will also manage systems and tools related to Global Pricing and Corporate Offering Optimization, ensuring process execution delivers accurate pricing in our systems in a timely manner. The analyst will regularly review and check pricing information to ensure it is up to date and correct, analyze market and competitive trends, and formulate new and innovative GSA pricing strategies and packaging plans to support changing business climates. This position requires a deep understanding of GSA contract procedures, the ability to think critically, and strong contract negotiation skills. You will also be responsible for managing and auditing pricing data, addressing process gaps, and supporting the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Own local, state, and/or federal GSA contracts related to SAS offerings, overseeing initiation, negotiation, and execution of GSA contracts in compliance with all government regulations.
  • Streamline contract operations and maintain efficient communication channels with government agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records of contract terms, amendments, and modifications, ensuring adherence to local, state, and/or federal GSA regulations and guidelines in coordination with legal and sales operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for GSA products contract inquiries and communications, providing timely and accurate responses.
  • Maintain and add products to GSA schedule, GSA Advantage, and state schedules on a quarterly (or as-needed) basis.
  • Stay informed about updates and changes to local, state, and/or federal GSA regulations, communicating relevant information to internal stakeholders.
  • Own systems and tools related to Global Pricing and Corporate Offering Optimization and Logistics.
  • Ensure process execution delivering accurate pricing in our systems in a timely manner.
  • Advise and collaborate with Global Pricing and product management, providing operational insights and managing cross-functional projects.
  • Regularly review and check pricing information to ensure it is up to date and correct.
  • Analyze market/competitive trends and customer segmentation to optimize for acquisition, expansion and/or retention and find the right balance.
  • Formulate new and innovative GSA pricing strategies and packaging plans to support changing business climates.
  • Manage data model for transactable items by setting up SKUs and offering codes including pricing and other attributes necessary for downstream modules from Oracle Product Hub.
  • Communicate complex concepts effectively and ensure all pricing and licensing model recommendations are in compliance with financial standards and go to market ready.
  • Manage and audit pricing data, addressing process gaps and supporting the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in local, state, and/or federal GSA contract administration, specifically focused on software and technology sales.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of GSA contract procedures and the ability to interpret complex contract terms and conditions.
  • Ability to think critically to identify issues and offer pragmatic, actionable solutions.
  • Contract negotiation skills, including a solid understanding of common legal and business terms and conditions and the ability to effectively explain one's position to others.
  • Experience confronting conflicts directly and respectfully.
  • Demonstrated ability to simply communicate complex concepts or requirements.
  • Deep sense of curiosity with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Oracle PDH, and CPQ pricing systems/tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Research, statistics and analytical experience highly desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and/or federal GSA regulations, FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulation), agency supplements thereto, and other relevant government procurement policies.
  • Experience with all forms of government solicitations (RFP, RFQ, and other forms) and managing all forms of government contracts (ID/IQ contracts, GWACS, BPAs, and GSA schedule contracts, open market ordering), including reviewing and understanding pricing, representations and certifications.
  • Pricing operations or licensing experience preferred especially interacting with sales.
  • Experience driving results on cross functional projects and process improvements.
  • Coordination of large datasets.
  • Ability to “see around the corner” and anticipate downstream and upstream impacts.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Visual Analytics, SAS, and/or SQL proficiency.
