About the position

Totally Joined for Achieving Collaborative Techniques (TJFACT) is seeking to hire a Software Programmer to join our team in Atlanta, GA. This position will support the CDC-DHP and is crucial for enhancing the effectiveness of organizational strategies and operations of programs supported by DHP. The selected candidate will independently provide system updates and enhancements, focusing on improving organizational processes and systems. This includes maintaining the data repository and the internal Power BI-based DHP Dashboard, as well as other program management tools that track progress towards national goals and manage DHP recipients effectively. The Software Programmer will be responsible for ensuring that all software testing is thorough, aiming to maximize quality and minimize post-production defects and rework. The role involves performing software testing in a non-production development environment, developing and maintaining a comprehensive test plan, and conducting functional testing using approved test scenarios. The candidate will also facilitate access to the test environment for specific DHP staff to perform beta testing, utilizing mimicked data from Dashboard transactions for testing purposes. Additionally, the programmer will conduct performance testing on a scaled performance test environment provided by the CDC for each major and minor release, ensuring that performance quality standards are met. Security testing will also be a critical component of this role, ensuring that all approved software changes are free from vulnerabilities in accordance with security requirements. The candidate will be responsible for performing Section 508 Compliance testing of the dashboard and recording all defects or issues found during testing phases, reviewing results with relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure thorough testing for all releases to maximize quality and minimize post-production defects and rework.
  • Perform software testing in a non-production development environment.
  • Develop and maintain a test plan that includes specific test scenarios in MS Word and submit them for review and approval before testing begins.
  • Conduct functional testing using the approved test scenarios.
  • Provide access to the test environment for specific DHP staff to perform beta testing.
  • Use mimicked data from Dashboard transactions for testing to verify operational components and data processing systems.
  • Conduct performance testing on a scaled performance test environment for each major and minor release.
  • Perform security testing on all approved software changes to ensure no vulnerabilities exist.
  • Conduct Section 508 Compliance testing of the dashboard according to the required standards.
  • Record all defects/issues found during testing and review results with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Obtain HSPD-12 Clearance
  • 10 years of experience as a Software Programmer
