About the position
The position involves collaborating with stakeholders to design, program, and maintain applications and software that meet usability needs. The role requires a proactive individual who can work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on detail and follow-through. The candidate will also provide training and support to end users, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the efficient operation of computer systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with stakeholders to assess usability needs, requirements, and specifications for the requested program or application.
- Designs and programs applications and software to meet identified needs.
- Maintains and updates production versions of computer application software.
- Creates and/or modifies end user documentation and training documents.
- Provides training to end users on effective use of applications and programs.
- Acts as a help-desk liaison to troubleshoot user problems with ERP system, Power System, or PC networking.
- Facilitates weekly, monthly, and annual routine tasks related to the computer system and software applications.
- Provides primary services related to the day-to-day operation of computer systems, including system backups and maintenance of backup media libraries.
- Analyzes existing program logic to identify causes of program malfunctions and modifies program logic to eliminate problems or increase operational efficiency.
- Assists and backs up other members of the IT Department.
- Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in related areas of technology and programming.
- Takes ownership of business results and personal wellness.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Advanced education in computer science or a related field.
- 1 - 3 years' experience in a relevant role or equivalent experience or certifications.
- Proficient in programming languages such as RPG, CL, and SQL.
- Experience with IBMI Power System preferred.
- Knowledge of INFOR XA ERP preferred.
