About the position

The Software Project Engineer will lead the software development efforts for new ultrasound projects at Philips in Bothell, Washington. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure successful project execution, managing risks, and aligning resources to meet project goals. The engineer will play a crucial role in bringing innovative ultrasound software products to market, ensuring that implementations meet customer and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, definition, specification, design, implementation, integration, and testing of software solutions for new development projects.
  • Ensure project execution aligns with guidelines and directives, determining project risks and defining corrective actions.
  • Communicate and review plans, status, project risks, metrics, and resource requests with project stakeholders.
  • Manage cross-discipline and cross-project dependencies with other project leaders, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners.
  • Collaborate with team members in Product/Clinical Marketing, Customer Services, and Supply Chain to meet customer and business needs.
  • Lead software development efforts distributed across Philips sites in North America and India.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading software development efforts.
  • Experience in an Agile development environment, preferably with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Good understanding of the V-model, particularly in requirements analysis and functional analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface with engineers, project leaders, and functional managers.
  • Familiarity with medical devices and/or working in a regulated environment is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • PMP certification is a nice to have.
