About the position

The Software QA Analyst (Navy SME) at Cydecor, Inc. is responsible for ensuring the quality of software solutions that support U.S. Navy Fleet Forces Command. This role involves collaborating with Navy stakeholders and development teams to capture business requirements, translating complex challenges into actionable solutions through data analysis, and maintaining high standards of quality in a fast-paced environment. The position requires a strong understanding of Navy operations and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Navy stakeholders and development teams to capture and clarify business requirements.
  • Translate complex business challenges into actionable solutions through data analysis, identifying trends, and providing recommendations.
  • Document and communicate business processes, requirements, and functional solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • At least 4-7 years of experience supporting Navy Manpower and Personnel operations and planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing the impact of staffing shortfalls on unit readiness.
  • Knowledge of Navy Required Operational Capabilities (ROC) analysis and its application to personnel staffing requirements.
  • Understanding of the Navy Personnel Figure of Merit (PFOM) and its role in readiness reporting.
  • Proven ability to break down complex problems, identify root causes, and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret business processes, requirements, and system functionality.
  • Proficiency in data analysis to inform decisions, identify trends, and recommend operational improvements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate requirements and solutions clearly to stakeholders at all levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience collaborating with various stakeholders (e.g., business users, development teams, project managers) to gather requirements and ensure solution alignment.
  • Skills in facilitating meetings, workshops, and discussions to capture requirements and foster collaboration.
  • Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and testable user stories and functional requirements.
  • Familiarity with process mapping, use cases, data flow diagrams, and other modeling techniques to visualize processes and systems.
  • Experience supporting the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with a focus on Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Expertise in creating detailed functional specifications, workflows, and interface designs.
  • Proficiency with Azure DevOps or other software development management tools.
  • Basic knowledge of programming concepts and the technical constraints associated with web development.
  • Ability to analyze current processes to identify areas for improvement or automation.
  • Experience developing business cases or ROI analysis to support the justification of new software solutions or enhancements.
  • Ability to conduct gap analysis by comparing current and desired future states in terms of functionality and process.
