About the position

McKesson is a Fortune 10 company that plays a crucial role in the healthcare sector, focusing on making quality care more accessible and affordable. The company is currently seeking a Software Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst to join the Macro Helix team. This position is vital for ensuring that software products meet the highest quality standards before they are delivered to clients. The QA Analyst will be responsible for performing functional testing, evaluating new or modified software programs, and ensuring that they function according to user requirements and established guidelines. In this role, the QA Analyst will collaborate closely with the development team to write, revise, and verify quality standards and test procedures. This includes reviewing documentation, diagrams, and flowcharts to determine if the software will perform as expected. The analyst may also review computer operating logs to identify any processing errors and will be tasked with testing programs for validity, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to established standards. Additionally, the QA Analyst will identify discrepancies between established standards and user applications, suggesting modifications as necessary to ensure compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software testing, with at least 4 years of experience in the field. They should possess critical skills such as writing and executing SQL queries, familiarity with test management systems like qTest or ALM, and experience with agile software development tools such as JIRA. A solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile Scrum, KANBAN, and Test Driven Development is essential. Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills are also required to succeed in this role. Experience in automating test cases and knowledge of the healthcare industry will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and tests new or modified software programs and software development procedures to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines.
  • Writes, revises, and verifies quality standards and test procedures for program design and product evaluation to ascertain the quality of software.
  • Reviews new or modified programs, including documentation, diagrams, and flowcharts, to determine if programs will perform according to user requests and conform to guidelines.
  • May review computer operating logs to identify program processing errors and test programs for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to establishment standards.
  • Identifies differences between establishment standards and user applications and suggests modifications to conform to standards.

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience in software and/or program testing.
  • Strong experience writing and executing SQL queries.
  • Strong experience with a test management system like qTest/ALM.
  • Strong experience of JIRA or similar agile software development tool.
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC/Agile Scrum/KANBAN/Test Driven Development.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and self-starter.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience automating test cases using tools like Tosca/Selenium, QTP/UFT, LeanFT.
  • Experience in Health Care, pharmaceuticals, or managed care is a plus.
  • Experience in Performance testing is a plus.
