About the position

The Junior QA Analyst position is a contract role based in Atlanta, GA, focused on ensuring the quality of software applications for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting systems, executing test plans, and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful software testing and implementation. The position is expected to last for at least six months, with potential for renewal based on budget considerations.

Responsibilities

• Drive overall QA planning, tracking, and reporting for projects.
• Create and document test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Execute tests, analyze results, and report problems and anomalies.
• Interact actively with various teams to understand business requirements.
• Ensure software testing is completed on time and notify management of any issues or risks.
• Assist in the development of UAT test scenarios leveraging test cases.
• Participate in defect triage meetings and demos.
• Report weekly status to the Quality Assurance Testing Lead.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a similar field.
• At least three years of experience in software testing.
• Experience in testing custom applications and GIS components.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with manual and automated testing using supported tools.
• Ability to document Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM) and confirm applications are ready for UAT.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with mobile device testing.
• Familiarity with defect management tools like TFS and JIRA.
• Preferred experience in the public sector.
• Preferred training or certifications in software testing such as CSTE or CAST.
