About the position

The Software QA Engineer will support Nvidia's Engineering team by playing a key role in data collection and operations for autonomous vehicles. This position involves working closely with the data engineering team to enhance operational efficiencies and ensure timely completion of data collection requests. The ideal candidate will have a technical background and hands-on experience with hardware and software concepts, particularly in the context of autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle and system for data collection.
  • Collect various types of data for DNN training.
  • Review and follow technical documentation related to ML/AI data collection.
  • Provide constructive feedback to engineers on various methods and procedures.
  • Execute and modify Bash and Python scripts based on the team's needs.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software and hardware issues.
  • Work independently to quickly and efficiently overcome challenges, escalating to leadership if necessary.
  • Support the development of state-of-the-art autonomous vehicle technology in an agile environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a technical degree.
  • 2+ years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of customers and staff.
  • Ability to work in a constantly evolving, hands-on, startup environment.
  • Ability to make decisions and work with minimal direction.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge in programming languages like Bash, Python, C, and C++.
  • Experience with task management tools like Jira.

Nice-to-haves

  • An obvious passion for getting things done in a fast-paced technology environment.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and procedures.
  • Exceptional knowledge of Linux filesystems and Bash.
  • Exposure to programming languages like Python and C++.
  • Curiosity about the operations of deep neural networks and the tools being used.
