About the position

The Software QA Engineer for Body Controls Firmware at Tesla Motors, Inc. is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software systems that control various body functions in Tesla vehicles. This role involves developing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for body control firmware.
• Identify, document, and track defects in the software.
• Collaborate with software developers and hardware engineers to resolve issues.
• Perform regression testing and validate fixes for reported defects.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on software requirements and specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
• Experience with embedded systems and firmware testing.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ or Python.

• Experience with automotive software testing standards and practices.
• Familiarity with CAN protocols and automotive communication standards.
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and tools.
