About the position

The Software QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of software products throughout the development process. This role involves both manual and automated testing, collaboration with various teams, and contributing to the release process. The engineer will also provide third-line support for customers and participate in agile/scrum teams, emphasizing the importance of software quality.

Responsibilities

  • Testing, both manual and automatic, of a variety of software products to verify quality standards.
  • Review user stories and technical specifications to create test plans in collaboration with R&D engineers and product marketing.
  • Continuously improve testing methodology and tools.
  • Test software with interconnected hardware products.
  • Report, document, and organize issues found within the software.
  • Document testing procedures and their application to software and hardware.
  • Contribute to the release process, including documentation and distribution of release notes.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams, product marketing, sales, application engineers, and customers to identify problems.
  • Provide third-line support for customers, including bug reporting and troubleshooting.
  • Manage product alpha and beta test programs, working directly with customers.
  • Participate in agile/scrum teams, providing feedback on software design and scheduling.
  • Document usage and contribute to the knowledge database.
  • Help create, implement, execute, and guard optimized processes, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of MS Windows operating system and Windows desktop applications; Apple Mac OS knowledge preferred.
  • General interest in IT, Software, and Software Engineering.
  • Knowledge of color science, color quality, and color formulation preferred.
  • Knowledge of software testing theory, application, and tools.
  • Experience with test automation and automation tools (e.g., TestComplete).
  • Experience with Jira for issue/bug tracking and project management.
  • Experience participating in agile/scrum teams.
