About the position

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking a Software QA Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for coding and programming enhancements, updates, and changes for various subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools. You will execute established test plans and protocols for assigned portions of code, identifying, logging, and debugging assigned issues. This position requires a strong understanding of software systems design and development, as you will work closely with both internal and outsourced development partners to create reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for low to moderately complex products. As a Software QA Engineer, you will participate as a member of a project team alongside other software systems engineers and development partners. Your contributions will be crucial in ensuring that our software products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. You will also have the opportunity to develop your understanding of the software development lifecycle and enhance your skills in testing methodologies and tools. Responsibilities

  • Codes and programs enhancements, updates, and changes for portions and subsystems of systems software.
  • Executes established test plans and protocols for assigned portions of code.
  • Identifies, logs, and debugs assigned issues.
  • Develops understanding of and relationship with internal and outsourced development partners on software systems design and development.
  • Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners.

Requirements

  • Experience in coding and programming for systems software.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to identify and debug software issues effectively.
  • Experience working with internal and outsourced development teams.
  • Knowledge of operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
