About the position

The Software QA Engineer II at Nelnet is responsible for creating and maintaining automated test suites to enhance product quality and prevent defects. This role requires a solid understanding of the business domain and involves working with minimal supervision to contribute to the overall quality assurance process.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of automated test suites.
• Work effectively to define testable user stories, especially acceptance criteria with Product Owners and stakeholders.
• Create, design, and execute test strategies, including writing test plans, test cases and test scenarios.
• Evaluate and report test results, test progress, and product quality.
• Respond to change quickly, including changing, adding, or improving automated tests.
• Work closely with developers to solve problems and improve QA strategies.
• Serve as a resource for onboarding new team members.
• Ensure proper use of automated testing tools and look for ways to improve processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience.
• 3+ years of experience with NBS products or similar position at another company.
• 2+ years of experience with programming and automated testing tools.
• Analytical and detail oriented.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Good time management skills to plan and organize own work.
