About the position

Fluence is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software QA Engineer to join their growing team in Houston, TX (Hybrid). The role focuses on ensuring the quality of software products through the development of automated test scripts, creation of test cases, and identification of bugs or issues. The Software QA Engineer will collaborate with various team members to enhance the development and deployment process, making it an excellent opportunity for those passionate about coding, testing, and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and execute automated test scripts to ensure the quality of web applications
  • Conduct and analyze test results and be responsible for critical performance of feature releases and updates
  • Collaborate closely with other QA engineers, managers, and software engineers to understand product architecture, design, and implementation for better test strategies
  • Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test data based on requirements and design specifications
  • Perform manual testing as needed, particularly for exploratory, regression, and integration testing
  • Identify, log, and track defects, working with developers to resolve issues
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring that test automation best practices are followed
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines for automated testing

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
  • Basic understanding of software testing principles and methodologies such as unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing
  • Experience with or knowledge of test automation tools such as Cypress, Pytest, Selenium
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as CircleCI, Jenkins
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience with cloud environments like AWS, Azure
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs testing using Postman or similar tools
