About the position

The Software QA Engineer will be part of the Compute Operations team at Cisco, responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of innovative solutions across various domains including compute, hyperconvergence, storage, and software/SaaS. This role involves authoring test strategies, developing test plans, and executing functional, regression, and system testing to support the company's multi-billion-dollar business. The engineer will collaborate with a skilled team to tackle critical business problems and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Author test strategies and detailed test plans.
  • Conduct functional, regression, and system testing for server, network, storage, and GPU management.
  • Write test plans and test cases, and automate test cases using Python.
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects to validate solutions for key customers and industries.
  • Support executive leadership with operational excellence and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in a QA organization, or Master's degree with 3+ years of related experience.
  • Expertise in system management (Server/Network/Storage/GPU Management).
  • Experience in functional, regression, and system testing.
  • Proficiency in writing test plans and test cases, and automating them using Python.
  • Familiarity with operating systems like Windows/Linux and VMware.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive experience with hardware and networking setup in a lab environment.
  • Experience with storage technologies such as SAS/SATA/NVMe.
  • Experience with GPU testing using Nvqual and CUDA test suites.
  • Strong social skills and ability to manage high-priority tasks effectively.
  • A passion for quality and customer satisfaction.
